Maureen McDermott

Driven by passion, you will see her love affair with the Connemara region of Ireland with this series of paintings.

This area of the world calls her back each year for another infusion of dramatic light, incredible scenery and wonderful memories.

Life Training…

After almost three decades of designing and building housing, the relationship of structures with their environment continues to fascinate Maureen. From an isolated island cottage to a dense urban neighborhood, creation of home and the impact it makes on mother nature’s setting, strikes a cord and resonates a mood that she projects in her paintings.

Through her paintings she discovers a “place”. Something created by others but rediscovered by her.  Thus her favorite quote is Gauguin’s, “I invent nothing…I rediscover.”
